Chomps a three-month-old Siberian Husky, was discovered as a stray and brought to the Carson/Gardena Animal Care Center. Upon arrival, it became evident that Chomps was suffering from a challenging fracture with a bleak prognosis for recovery. Despite pain medication, Chomps was in excruciating pain, vocalizing it through constant howls, which deeply affected the staff.
Given the urgency to relieve his suffering and the expensive surgery required, amputation seemed the only viable solution to ensure Chomps’ future well-being. Fortunately, the Dreams Come True program was available and Chomps was referred to a specialized veterinary team. Swiftly transported to a private vet clinic, Chomps underwent the crucial surgery to mend his fractured leg.
The young pup, having already faced life’s hardships, commenced his recovery journey. To everyone’s delight, Chomps showed remarkable progress, bouncing back to good health rapidly. Shortly after, he found his forever home and was formally adopted on October 4, 2023.
Your invaluable support for the Los Angeles County Animal Care Foundation played a pivotal role in Chomps’ story. Thanks to this support, Chomps was able to retain his leg, now enjoying the chance for a complete, happy, and healthy life.
