Accountant and the retired Auditor-Controller for the County of Los Angeles. In this role, she managed a department of 550 staff responsible for auditing all county departments, ensuring 105,000 County employees and all vendors/contractors were paid timely, distributing property taxes to all 88 cities, school and special districts, investigating allegations of employee and contractor fraud, and issuing the County’s audited Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
Arlene is a life-long Southern Californian and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She is an avid dog lover and enjoys traveling to pet friendly locations with Shadow, her 3-year-old poodle mix rescued from a high-kill shelter.
Arlene also enjoys expanding her garden with pollinator friendly plants, including Milkweed and Dill to provide a healthy environment for Monarch and Swallowtail eggs to develop into caterpillars and emerge as butterflies. She is excited to be a LACF Board member and become more involved in helping shelter pets find their forever homes.
